Filemaker files may be shared over the internet in 3 basic ways:






Multi-User
To share your file as a multi-user file it must be sent to us with a master password and all users that wish to access it must have the password/s as well as a copy of Filemaker Pro. To open a multi-user Filemaker file over the web first go to the Filemaker Preferences and set the Network Protocol to tcp/ip. You will need to quit and restart Filemaker for the changes to take effect. Next - go to the Open option and click on the Hosts button. type in the name or IP address of the host and a list a shared databases will appear.

Also known as Instant Web Publishing in FileMaker Pro

Custom CDML:
Through the use of CDML tags, FileMaker Pro databases can be integrated directly into your customized web site. This is one of the best uses of a database.

FTP:
Once you have signed up we will assign you a user name and password that you can use to ftp your files in.

Maximum File Size
= 50 MB per file unless otherwise agreed in advance. If you need to submit files via magnetic media please submit on 100 MB ZIP disks or CD only.

Opening the Files
After you have successfully ftp'd the files to us you should call or email us to notify us to open the files for access. You are responsible for setting up the password security on your database using Filemaker Pro's built-in access privileges. You MUST provide us with a password to open the file with. If you have questions about password control please look in the Filemaker Pro manual for instructions.

Security
If you wish to secure the database with Filemaker's Web Security database you must supply us with your copy of the web security database so that we may import your information into our own Web Security database. You WILL NOT be given access to our Web Security database. If you need to frequently add or delete passwords to the Web Security Database we suggest you use Filemaker's built-in password security instead.
